Eqbal Ahmed (1933-1999) was respected throughout the world for his deep insight in politics, powerful writings and principled and passionate commitments on the problems and prospects of the Third World, especially those of South Asia.

Calling him the leader of protest and resistance, Noam Chomsky pays tribute to Eqbal Ahmad and urges to expand and develop the rich legacy that he left us.
